Heat an Issue Ahead of the Storms

| June 7, 2025 @ 11:40 am

It’s a steamy Saturday across Central Alabama as temperatures climb into the upper 80s and lower 90s, with heat index values already reaching the upper 90s to near 102° in spots like Montgomery, Tuscaloosa, and Selma.

This level of heat poses a moderate risk for heat-related illness, particularly for those without access to cooling or hydration.

Health impacts are possible in some vulnerable populations, and heat-sensitive industries should be on alert.

If you’re spending time outdoors today, take frequent breaks in the shade and drink plenty of water—your body will thank you.
