Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Lauderdale, Colbert, Franklin, and Western Lawrence Counties Until 1:15 PM CDT

At 12:21 PM CDT, the National Weather Service in Huntsville issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for northwestern Alabama, including Lauderdale, Colbert, and Franklin counties, as well as western Lawrence County. A line of severe thunderstorms was located from near Corinth to Sandy Springs to Shannon, moving east at 50 mph.

These storms are capable of producing wind gusts up to 60 mph. Radar has confirmed the presence of these strong winds. Potential impacts include damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Areas that may be affected include Florence, Muscle Shoals, Russellville, Sheffield, Tuscumbia, Red Bay, Phil Campbell, Killen, Cherokee, and Littleville.

If you are in the path of these storms, move immediately to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Stay away from windows and remain weather aware. This warning remains in effect until 1:15 PM CDT.
