Severe Thunderstorm Warning for DeKalb, Jackson, and Marshall Counties Until 6:15 PM

The National Weather Service in Huntsville has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for northeastern Marshall County, central Jackson County, and all of DeKalb County until 6:15 PM.

At 5:19 PM, a strong storm near Powell was moving northeast at 20 mph, capable of producing 60 mph wind gusts and penny-size hail.
Potential damage includes downed trees and damage to roofs and siding.

Communities in the path include Scottsboro, Fort Payne, Rainsville, and Henagar.

Take shelter in a sturdy building away from windows until the storm passes.
