Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued for Marshall, Jackson, and DeKalb Counties

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect until 3:30 PM CDT for northeastern Marshall, southeastern Jackson, and all of DeKalb County in northeastern Alabama.

At 2:35 PM CDT, a strong thunderstorm was located 7 miles east of Guntersville, moving northeast at 25 mph.

The storm is capable of producing wind gusts up to 60 mph.

Radar indicates that damaging winds could impact locations including Scottsboro, Fort Payne, Rainsville, Guntersville, Fyffe, Henagar, Crossville, and Sylvania.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring and may lead to flash flooding.

Residents in the warned area should seek shelter immediately in an interior room on the lowest floor.

Avoid driving through flooded roadways.
