Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Talladega, Shelby, and St. Clair Counties

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued until 3:30 PM CDT for Talladega County, east central Shelby County, and south central St. Clair County.

At 2:40 PM CDT, a strong storm was located near Harpersville or Childersburg, moving northeast at 35 mph.

Winds may gust up to 60 mph with this storm, which could cause damage to roofs, trees, and siding.

Areas in the path include Oxford, Pell City, Talladega, Childersburg, Lincoln, Wilsonville, Vincent, Harpersville, and the Talladega Superspeedway.

Seek shelter now in an interior room away from windows.

If driving, be prepared for sudden gusts and avoid downed trees or debris.
