American Theatre Guild presents ‘The Tina Turner Musical’
This musical is a celebration of resilience and an inspiration of triumph over adversity. It is the comeback story like no other of a woman who dared to defy the bounds of racism, sexism and ageism to become the global queen of rock n’ roll. Featuring many of her beloved songs, the musical is written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Katori Hall with Frank Ketelaar and Kees Prins. The musical will close out the 2024-25 Broadway in Birmingham series at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex June 24-29. Alabama Blueberry Festival
The annual Alabama Blueberry Festival in historic downtown Brewton takes place Saturday, June 21, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The festival will offer blueberry ice cream, blueberry cobbler and crunch and fresh blueberries. Enjoy a variety of arts and crafts, a car show, live entertainment and food court as well as shopping for blueberry bushes and festival T-shirts. The venue is Jennings Park. Rock the South
The Rock the South country music festival will feature three days of music, camping and fun at York Farms in Cullman through Saturday, June 21. Performers include Hank Williams Jr., Kid Rock, Nickelback and others.
