Impressive Quick Rains at KHSV

| August 21, 2010 @ 6:03 pm | 2 Replies

Another indication of the impressive rains that can fall out of these thunderstorms in this moist, summertime airmass:

1.21 inches of rain fell at the Huntsville International Airport this afternoon. That fact is not impressive on its own, but where you consider that…

…0.88 inches fell in 8 minutes
…1.02 inches fell in 9 minutes

It gets a little more impressive.

These storms now extend from west of Baileytown to Arab to Union Grove.

They will affect places like Baileyton, Arab, Boaz, Albertville, Crossville and Collinsville over the next hour.
