Confused Trees…

Thanks to Peter Eipers of Helena for these pictures… he writes:

“James-
I thought you might be interested in what I noticed today. A bradford pear tree in my yard turned brown and dropped all its leaves in the heat of August. I discovered today that it is starting to bloom, just like it did in early spring. I’ve never seen such a thing. In the photo, you will see a second identical tree that kept its leaves. And on the far right is one that lost about half its leaves. Talk about micro climates!”
