As Autumn Fades

Autumn is my favorite season of the year and I spend a lot of time looking at the great scenery especially along the one-half mile walking track that goes all the way around our community.

This giant tree was still a blaze of color two or three days ago. But then, bingo, the leaves are all gone. That does not mean the stately tree suddenly become ugly.

My wife, who doubles as the MO (Majority Owner) of Little Miss Molly accuses me of photographing hundreds more dead trees than pictures of our children and grandchildren. I plead guilty.

Walking Miss Molly at mid-afternoon today, I discovered this tree was ripe for photographing with the late afternoon light just right. I took Molly home, grabbed my camera and left again despite major objections of Molly. Took about 25 pictures. Later I will post one showing why we should not always look upward for autumn beauty–but sometimes just look down at your feet!
