8:30 am General Update
Much of Alabama has received rain overnight and early this morning. Since almost all of the state is still showing a deficit, we post these amounts. (Unable to access the 33/40 Skywatchers Network)

0.17 Dothan
0.39 Tuscaloosa Airport

Rain has mostly ended at Tuscaloosa. However, we are watching a secondary area of light rain spreading east and NE from Louisiana. We hope it will fizzle before reaching West Alabama. Kickoff for the Alabama/Auburn game at Tuscaloosa is 1:30 pm. The sparse amounts from South Alabama is because the main rain area had not reached that area when these measurements were reported. That will change.
It is a cold/raw day. Here are some 8 am spot reports:
34 at Russellville
36 cloudy, Muscle Shoals
37 light drizzle, Cullman
50 overcast Fort Payne
43 Scottsboro
32 overcast, Haleyville (yes, the freezing mark!)
48 cloudy, Tuscaloosa
74 mostly sunny, Gulf Shores
58 light rain, Mobile
52 cloudy Gadsden
53 cloudy Birmingham
53 light rain, Anniston
54 light rain, Alexander City
USA EXTREMES
94 yesterday, McAllen, Tex. (that is summerlike heat!)
