**No Weather Xtreme video this afternoon due to the travel schedule; we are doing Storm Alert 2011 this evening in Pickens County at Gordo High School. The show begins at 6:45… hope to see many of you there**

HIGHS STAY IN THE 70s: Birmingham hit the 70 degree mark at 2:00 this afternoon… Montgomery is already at 74 as the very mild late winter weather continues.

TOMORROW THROUGH SUNDAY: A weak front could kick off a shower somewhere over North Alabama tomorrow night, but the chance of any one spot getting wet is so small it really isn’t worth mentioning in the forecast. Bottom line is that we are still looking at partly sunny warm days and fair nights through Sunday with highs in the 70-75 degree range. Sunday looks to be the warmest day… some communities near the Mississippi border might rise into the 77-80 degree range, which is right at record warmth for late February.

NEXT WEEK: Another weak front might kick off a few widely scattered showers late Monday or Monday night, but really significant and widespread rain is not expected. Highs drop back into the 60s Tuesday and Wednesday, but we should be back in the low 70s by Thursday as the mild weather pattern continues.

LONG RANGE: A quick peek at the 12Z GFS still shows no major cold air intrusions into early March, with below average rainfall amounts as the primary forcing remains well to the west and north of Alabama. You can see this morning’s Weather Xtreme video for more details on the long range ideas.
