Emily Making a Comeback?

| August 6, 2011 @ 9:07 am | Reply

Thunderstorm activity associated with the remnants of Tropical Storm Emily has intensified over the Bahamas this morning and conditions are becoming more favorable for the system to regenerate.

The NHC has tasked an Air Force Hurricane Hunter plane to investigate the system early this afternoon to see if a center has reformed and whether it needs to be reclassified.  If it does, it will retain the name Emily.

Indications are that it will, but it is expected to turn northward and stay well east of the coast of Florida and the Carolinas.
