Million Dollar Rain?

However, I feel sure that the steady rain across a good part of Central Alabama most of today so far, was worth that much, or more.

The reason it was so welcome was because it lasted for hours and was light to moderate. There was enough time for most of the rain to soak into a thirsty ground of a serious drought-plagued state like Alabama.

At Birmingham Airport, as of noon, officially 0.45 rain had occurred and light rain continues. I have not checked my rain gauge in NE Trussville but I estimate a like amount.

We are in for more beneficial rain in the next 24 hours. Maybe well over one inch for parts of North and Central Alabama.

Not quite time to throw a street party yet but we are highly encouraged!
