Perseid Meteor Shower

| August 10, 2013 @ 9:00 pm

Over the next few nights, we will have some extra excitement in the nighttime sky other than showers and storms. Thanks to the folks at the NWS Birmingham Office for reminding us of one of the top meteor showers of the year. The annual Perseid Meteor Shower is set to take over the nighttime sky with as many as 70 meteors per hour possible during its peak.

From the NWS: The Perseid Meteor Shower is set to peak on Aug 12-13. The best time to view will be during the early morning hours on Monday and Tuesday. Cloud cover could hinder viewing at times, but hopefully everyone will see at least one shooting star!
