High Pressure in Control
High pressure in control of our weather this weekend has allowed for the coldest temperatures so far this season to invade Alabama and the Southeast. That high pressure has slid off to our east and is centered on the Georgia and South Carolina border. With this feature to our east and the clockwise flow around it, our winds will be shifting out of the south. That will begin to help moderate our temperatures for the next few days. We will begin to notice that tonight as overnight low will not be as cold as they were last night.
For the rest of the afternoon and into the evening hours, the sky will remain clear and temperatures will be mild. It will continue to be a terrific fall day across the state and there will be no issue with the weather heading into the evening hours. Once the sun sets, temperatures will begin to fall rapidly and most areas will slip from the lower 60s through the 50s over the next few hours.
