Not As Cold Tonight

| October 26, 2013 @ 6:02 pm

It will be another cold night across Alabama, but not as cold as it was last night. High pressure has slid off to our east and that is allowing a southerly flow to return across portions of the Southeast. This will begin to transport warmer air into the region and will help moderate our temperatures. You will begin to notice that change tonight and certainly tomorrow as afternoon highs will be back in the 70s for Sunday.

Before we we see those 70s, we have one more cold night in store across central Alabama. As we look at the graphic below, which are forecast lows for tomorrow morning, we are expecting most of north-central Alabama to have lows in the upper 30s and lower 40s. There will once again be locations that will dip below the freezing mark and will see frost, but overall most locations will be warmer than last night. The colder air will be across eastern sections of the state, while warmer temps are expected across the western portions. This will be the coldest night out of the next seven as a warmer weather pattern sets up across the state.
