The deep freeze is ending across Central Alabama as we have finally made it above the freezing mark.

The last recorded temperature at or above freezing for Birmingham occurred Sunday night, January 5, 2014 at 10:53 PM. The latest observation at the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport shows that Birmingham has officially made it above freezing as a temperature of 34 has been recorded.

That was a total of 60 consecutive hours at or below freezing.

We will dip below freezing again tonight, but over the next several days we will warm up nicely. After tonight, our temperatures will stay above freezing for the next 5-7 days. Over the weekend, we will even be in the 60s for afternoon highs.
