Winter Weather Advisory for Fayette, Lamar, Marion, Walker, Winston

The NWS Birmingham has issued a Winter Weather Advisory effective until noon today for counties over West Central and Northwest Alabama, including: Fayette, Lamar, Marion, Walker and Winston.

Snowfall accumulations will be light over the Advisory area, less than 1/2 inch, but some freezing rain on the back edge could cause enhanced icing problems after sunrise.

Light sleet was just reported in Bear Creek in Marion County.

And snow is starting to accumulate on raised surfaces in Hamilton.
