NWS Birmingham Cancels Winter Storm Watch

| February 15, 2015 @ 3:28 pm

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has canceled the winter storm watch for Central Alabama.

The NWS Huntsville has upgraded their winter storm watch to a winter weather advisory. Upgraded, you say? Yes, the move from a watch to an advisory is actually an upgrade. Now as serious as an upgrade to a winter storm warning, but still a move up the ladder.

The North Alabama counties under the winter weather advisory include:
Colbert, De Kalb, Franklin, Jackson, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marshall and Morgan.
It goes until noon Monday.

Don’t let down your guard however.  A wintry mix will still develop early morning and the NWS Birmingham will likely issue winter weather advisories for parts of their area of responsibility late tonight or early Monday morning.
