RADAR CHECK: A clipper is bringing clouds and some light rain to North Alabama this afternoon…

With very limited moisture, rain amounts will be light and spotty, and most of the showers will end by 8:00 p.m. South Alabama will stay dry tonight.

REST OF THE WEEK: Tomorrow will be slightly cooler in the wake of the clipper with a high in the mid 50s for most communities; then we rise into the low to mid 60s Thursday, and the high Friday will be very close to 70 degrees. The air will be dry, and we expect mostly sunny days and fair nights.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: A weak front will drift down into extreme North Alabama, and this feature could bring a few showers to the northern third of the state Saturday and Sunday. Nothing too heavy or widespread, and the sun could break out at times. And, temperatures will remain pleasant with highs in the 60s both days. Best chance of showers will be along and north of I-20 (Tuscaloosa to Birmingham to Anniston).

NEXT WEEK: A wave of low pressure forms on the front, and that should bring an increase in the coverage of the rain Monday. Then, drier air returns Tuesday, and mid-week looks rain-free with highs mostly in the 50s.

LONG RANGE: Still no sign of any severe weather issues, winter storms, or really cold Arctic air through the rest of February; see the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.
