Beautiful weather across Alabama and the Deep South this week, with simply splendid, spring-like weather. The relative dry air is place allows for the big temperatures swings daily from the morning lows in the 30s and 40s, to afternoon highs in the mid and upper 70s.
FEELS LIKE SPRING: Temperatures are in the 60s across Alabama this afternoon with a partly to mostly sunny sky; tonight will be fair with a low in the 40s for most places. Colder spots across North Alabama will dip into the upper 30s.
North Alabama is seeing tons of sunshine, but along and south of the Interstate 20 corridor, we are seeing a mix of sun and clouds today.
RADAR CHECK: We have some lingering light rain over far South Alabama early this morning; that will end soon and the afternoon will feature a partly sunny sky with temperatures in the 60s. We are forecasting delightful weather for the Deep South tomorrow and Wednesday
It is warmer today than yesterday, but still cold by Alabama standards; with sunshine in full supply temperatures are reaching the 40s this afternoon.
Temperatures this week are running 15-25 degrees above average for the first week of February; highs are in the 70s with some 80s expected across central and southern sections of the state.
A very warm week of weather is ahead for Alabama as we are feeling a very early taste of spring as highs will be 15-25 degrees above average.
MILD JANUARY DAY: One week ago most of South Alabama had a big blanket of snow on the ground; today Mobile has reached the low 70s with a mostly sunny sky.
Plenty of sunshine across Alabama today and highs are surging into the 60s statewide this afternoon and some spots across South Alabama are flirting with 70°. Tonight, lows will be in the mid to upper 40s.
THE BIG THAW CONTINUES: All of Alabama will enjoy a high in the 60s this afternoon with a partly to mostly sunny sky; temperatures will peak around 70 degrees on the Gulf Coast. Some clouds will move into the state tomorrow, and a few sprinkles are possible during the day.
WARMING UP: Temperatures are in the 50s across most of Alabama this afternoon with a mostly sunny sky; we note Mobile has reached the low 60s at mid-afternoon. Tonight will be mostly fair with a low in the 35-45 degree range.
Plenty of sunshine across Alabama today and after the frosty and foggy morning, temperatures are warming up nicely with highs in the mid to upper 50s, with a few low 60s to the south.
FOGGY START: A freezing fog advisory is in effect for much of North and Central Alabama early this morning; dense fog has formed in spots, and with temperatures below freezing that could mean some icy spots on bridges. With a sunny sky, temperatures will warm quickly, and we project a high in the 55-65 degree range across the state this afternoon.
Today and tomorrow will feature plenty of sunshine, but temperatures will remain below average with highs in the mid to upper 40s today, but we should see low 50s tomorrow afternoon. Tonight will be another frigid night with upper teens and lower 20s.
