At 4:26 PM CDT, Doppler Radar Was Tracking Strong Thunderstorms Along A Line Extending From 6 Miles Northeast Of De Kalb To Near Tamola To Near Toomsuba. Movement Was East At 40 Mph. Winds In Excess Of 40 Mph Will Be Possible With These Storms.
ACTIVE PATTERN CONTINUES: An upper low just northwest of Alabama continues to interact with a tropical airmass over the region, and will keep the weather unsettled through the weekend. On radar this afternoon, we have one batch of strong storms moving into Georgia, but more showers and thunderstorms are developing rapidly over the northwest counties of the state. Temperatures are in the 70s where rain is falling, and in the 80s elsewhere.
SPC has removed the Slight Risk for severe storms from Central Alabama as the mass of storms that have caused some damage in the southern parts of the area have now pushed over into Georgia.
The storms which prompted the warning have moved out of the area.
NWS Birmingham has removed Clay, Elmore, Macon, and Tallapoosa counties from the Severe Thunderstorm Watch as the main threat of severe storms have moved east of those counties.
At 2:13 PM CDT, Doppler Radar Was Tracking Strong Thunderstorms Along A Line Extending From Fort Mcclellan To Near Delta To 7 Miles North Of Goldville. Movement Was East At 55 Mph. Winds In Excess Of 40 Mph And Heavy Rainfall Will Be Possible With These Storms.
At 2:03 PM CDT, Radar Indicated Strong Thunderstorms Were Located Along A Line Extending From Near Midway To 6 Miles Southwest Of Brundidge. Movement Was East At 30 Mph. Winds In Excess Of 40 Mph Are Possible With These Storms.
