The last two counties remaining in the Tornado Watch that was set to expire at midnight tonight were allowed to be canceled as the threat for organized severe storms have come to an end.
The severe threat is over for Blount County and NWS Birmingham has canceled the Tornado Watch for those locations.
The Flash Flood Watch for all counties west of Morgan and Madison counties in northern Alabama and all counties in southern middle Tennessee has been cancelled.
NWS Birmingham continues the tornado watch for Blount, Cherokee, and Etowah counties until midnight tonight.
As of 9:00 pm, all of the tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings have been either canceled or expired and all of the activity is well below severe limits at this point.
At 839 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Henagar, or 8 miles northeast of Rainsville, moving east at 35 mph.
NWS Huntsville updates Tornado Watch (cancels Colbert, and Franklin counties, continues Cullman, DeKalb, Jackson, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marshall, and Morgan counties.
At 831 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Fyffe, or near Rainsville, moving east at 40 mph.
SPC and NWS Birmingham have added Fayette & Walker counties to new Tornado Watch set to expire at midnight tonight.
Strong storms continue tonight across the northern third of Alabama tonight, with developing storms in West Alabama as well.
At 757 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Grant, or 13 miles north of Guntersville, moving east at 45 mph.
Here is an update on the Alabama weather situation at 7:45 p.m. The threat of severe weather continues for the area north of a line from Demopolis to Calnton to Allex City.
At 728 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over southwestern Huntsville, moving east at 45 mph.
At 721 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain which will cause flooding. One to two inches of rain with locally higher amounts have already fallen.
