Clouds Linger Today; Sunny Weekend Ahead With Cold Mornings
DRY, BUT STILL CLOUDY: Clouds continue to cover most of Alabama early this morning with temperatures mostly in the 40s. Clouds will likely linger much of the day as a wave of low pressure forms in the Gulf of Mexico, but rain with that feature will be confined mainly to the Florida peninsula… Alabama will be dry with a high in the 57-62 degree range. Clearing will finally take place this evening as the disturbance in the Gulf moves eastward.
THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: Look for sunny pleasant days and fair cold nights. The high both days will be in the 64-68 degree range, and morning lows will dip into the mid to upper 30s across much of North/Central Alabama with potential for scattered frost. Colder spots could be close to freezing.
NEXT WEEK: Dry weather continues Monday through Wednesday with highs in the low 70s. We will mention a small risk of a shower Thursday, but the better chance of rain comes on Friday as a cold front passes through. Some thunder will be possible, but for now severe storms are not expected. Much colder air will follow over the weekend (November 13-14)… See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.
TROPICS: Tropical Storm Wanda, with sustained winds of 50 mph, remains far from land over the North Atlantic… it becomes post-tropical in a few days. Otherwise tropical storm formation is not expected through next week. The hurricane season ends on November 30.
