Drier, Calmer Weather Ahead For Alabama

| April 18, 2022 @ 5:37 am

RADAR CHECK: Rain has moved out of Alabama early this morning, but clouds linger across much of the state at daybreak. We are forecasting a clearing sky today with sunshine returning this afternoon… the high will be in the 67-71 degree range for most places. The average high for Birmingham on April 18 is 76.

It is a dry forecast for the rest of the week as an upper ridge builds across the region. Tomorrow will be a sunny day with a high in the mid to upper 60s, and mostly sunny weather continues each day through Friday with a warming trend beginning Wednesday. The high will be in the mid 70s Wednesday, followed by low 80s Thursday, and mid 80s Friday.

WARM WEEKEND AHEAD: Get ready for the warmest weekend so far this year across Alabama; we are forecasting highs in the mid to upper 80s Saturday and Sunday… it will feel like summer. The ridge will also keep the state rain-free… the sky will be partly to mostly sunny both days.

NEXT WEEK: We are seeing evidence a few showers could return to the northern half of the state Monday (April 25), but most of next week looks quiet as the ridge remains in place. No sign of any severe weather threats for Alabama at this point for the rest of April… See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.
