Strong Non-Severe Storms

| June 10, 2013 @ 2:59 am

A line of storms that moved into West Alabama from Mississippi has been falling apart as it makes it way across Alabama. We do have a cluster of storms leftover from this line that is still maintaining some intensity. It is currently working into the Birmingham metro and will be impacting the area over the next hour. This cluster of storms is producing some gusty winds, heavy rain, frequent lightning and loud rubles of thunder. It is not severe and is not expected to become severe.

Elsewhere, there are a few pockets of showers across north and west Alabama, but the main storms we are watching are the ones moving into western Jefferson County from Tuscaloosa County, as it will be impacting heavily populated areas.
