SUMMER IS ALMOST HERE: This week will look and feel like summer across Alabama and the Deep South. Highs through the week will be close to 90 degrees for most places with partly to mostly sunny days and fair nights.
Alabama finds itself on the west side of a small upper low between Atlanta and Savannah. A nice field of stratocumulus covers the eastern half of the state with a mix of clouds and sun. The western half of the state is just beginning to see some of those clouds form.
We should be dry through midweek before another front tries to edge down into Alabama.
As of 7:47 PM CDT, radar indicated a severe thunderstorm near Deatsville, or near Millbrook, moving east at 45 mph. This storm poses a significant threat with hazards including 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-size hail. These conditions are likely to result in hail damage to vehicles and wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Be alert for strong gusty winds, heavy rain, lightning and some small hail.
Hail core just west of Duncanville in southern Tuscaloosa County. Could produce hail to the size of quarters.

At 336 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Clay, or 7 miles west of Springville, moving east at 30 mph.
At 316 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near County Line, or 8 miles northeast of Gardendale, moving east at 20 mph.
None of the storms are severe at this time, but a couple of isolated severe reports are likely.
At 107 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Priceville, or near Hartselle, moving east at 25 mph.
