A possible tornado moved across northern Madison County around 6:30.
A severe thunderstorm is near Moulton, moving east at 65 mph.
A new Tornado Watch has been issued for most of the Tennessee Valley. Only Lauderdale and Colbert counties are not included.
The storm over Lamar County is becoming increasingly organized. It could produce a tornado at any time as it moves into more favorable conditions. Residents over eastern Lamar County should take cover, including Crossville.
At 628 PM CST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near New Market, or 11 miles northeast of Moores Mill, moving east at 45 mph.
January 1, 1952 was a warm day, setting several records across Central Alabama. Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, and Anniston all reset those marks today.
At 5:53 pm, if you are south of the I-20 corridor in the southern half of the area, or east of the I-65 corridor in the northern half of the area, your day has been relatively quiet so far. However, strong to severe storms continue to move northeastward out of Mississippi into and through the northwestern quarter of the area.

At 530 PM CST, a severe thunderstorm was located near Town Creek, or 13 miles east of Muscle Shoals, moving east at 55 mph.
At 453 PM CST, a severe thunderstorm was located near Tuscumbia, moving northeast at 50 mph.
