Strong to severe thunderstorms continue to move across a good portion of the southern half of Central Alabama.
At 1:22 PM CDT, Radar Indicated Strong Thunderstorms Were Located Along A Line Extending From Near Martin Dam To Near Kent To Near Tallapoosa City. Movement Was Northeast At 45 Mph. Winds In Excess Of 40 Mph Are Possible With These Storms.
At 1:12 PM CDT, Radar Indicated Strong Thunderstorms Were Located Along A Line Extending From Near Westover To Talladega Springs. Movement Was East At 45 Mph. Winds In Excess Of 30 Mph Are Possible With These Storms.
At 1:05 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Mount Meigs, or 11 miles west of Milstead, moving east at 45 mph.
At 1:02 PM CDT, Radar Indicated Strong Thunderstorms Were Located Along A Line Extending From Near Waugh To 7 Miles Northwest Of Shopton To Near Pine Level. Movement Was East At 40 Mph. Winds In Excess Of 40 Mph Are Possible With These Storms.
At 12:38 PM CDT, Radar Indicated Strong Thunderstorms Were Located Along A Line Extending From American Village To Near Jemison. Movement Was Northeast At 40 Mph. Winds In Excess Of 30 Mph Are Possible With These Storms.
At 12:17 PM CDT, Radar Indicated Strong Thunderstorms Were Located Along A Line Extending From Near Ashby To Near Lawley. Movement Was Northeast At 35 Mph. Winds In Excess Of 30 Mph Are Possible With These Storms.
The storms which prompted the warning have moved out of the warned area.
Linear segments will continue to move eastward across the area during the early afternoon hours. Some of the stronger segments will be capable of producing damaging wind gusts. Convective trends will continue to be monitored for the possibility of a WW issuance.
At 11:55 AM CDT, Radar Indicated Strong Thunderstorms Were Located Along A Line Extending From Near Valley Grande To Near Gardner Island To 6 Miles West Of Gordonville To 11 Miles Southeast Of Belknap. Movement Was East At 50 Mph. Winds In Excess Of 40 Mph Are Possible With These Storms.
Late Thursday afternoon, a brief spin-up EF0 tornado touched down in Dallas County causing some roof and shingle damage to a house in Potter Station just west-northwest of Selma. This now brings the official count across the state for 2019 up to 58 confirmed tornadoes.
We continue to see a cluster of strong thunderstorms move across the southwestern parts of Central Alabama and down into South Alabama that is putting down copious amounts of rainfall, dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning, and gusty winds with gusts up to 40 MPH possible.
