The widespread rain and storms from the morning hours continues to gradually push east out of the area, and most of the afternoon looks to be dry for much of North and Central Alabama. However, we can’t rule out some additional scattered showers and storms this afternoon in some locations.
The wet and stormy pattern persists today through Friday across Alabama with warm and muggy conditions; highs in the low to mid 80s. Rain and storms are possible at any time and when and where the storms develop, they could be strong to locally severe.
The weather just is not changing much through Thursday as each day will feature rain and strong storms, and the Storm Prediction Center has a severe weather risk each day for Alabama.
We are seeing a mix of sun and clouds today, but we are watching another round of rain and storms to the west of Alabama as they will arrive later today and tonight.
Most of us are dry today, but we are seeing some showers and storms across the Tennessee Valley of the state. Widespread severe storms will develop this afternoon to our north, and these will move south into and through Alabama this evening and overnight.
It is another great day of weather with despite increasing clouds, it remains very comfortable with highs in the mid to upper 70s.
We are all dry and mostly cloudy across Central Alabama as we make the run-up to the 2 o’clock hour on this last Tuesday of March. There are a few breaks in the clouds that is allowing the sun to shine, but most have gray skies.
We have a decent amount of sunshine that is making it through these cumulus clouds that we have floating overhead across Central Alabama… unfortunately, the sun is not really helping out in making it feel any warmer.
At 1:40 PM, radar was showing showers over on the western parts of the state, while the eastern half is mainly staying dry at this point.
Absolutely clear skies across Central Alabama as we are getting closer to the middle of the afternoon. Temperatures are currently ranging from the lower 60s to the upper 60s throughout the area, which is well warmer than where we were at just 24 hours ago.
If it wasn’t just so chilly-cool outside at this point of the day, Central Alabama may be enjoying a nearly-perfect midday for late Winter.
Mainly clear skies across Central Alabama at 12:20 PM, with a little bit of wind and really cool temperatures. Below normal temperatures expected for at least one more day.
All of the western half of Central Alabama is now basking in bright sunshine as we approach the midday hour, while clouds are still continuing to cover the eastern skies.
We have a few high clouds over Central Alabama at this point, but those are not really filtering the bright sunshine on this wonderful Friday afternoon.
