Storms are over the south eastern quarter of Alabama at this hour. They’re pushing southeast towards Georgia and the Florida panhandle. A severe thunderstorm watches in Southeast Alabama until 7 PM.

At 1155 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Union Springs, moving southeast at 25 mph.
Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Macon County
At 1122 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Milstead, moving southeast at 20 mph.
Saturday Noon Update
Strong storms are pushing southeast over South Central Alabama late this morning. They will intensify as they push southeast over the next few hours and a watch may be required. Additional storms will form over Mississippi this afternoon and will move into Alabama between 4-6 p.m., with a threat for damaging winds and some hail. A marginal risk for severe weather is in effect.
Line of Storms Marching East
No warnings currently in effect for Alabama, but there are a string of significant weather advisories along the storms from Jackson and DeKalb Counties into Etowah, Blount, and St. Clair Counties. Heavy rain, gusty winds, lightning and some small hail will accompany the storms.
Strong Storms Moving Through North Alabama
A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Madison, Jackson, Marshall, and DeKalb counties until 7 a.m. Hail of less than 1″ and 60 mph winds are possible.
