
Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Northern Marengo and Southern Sumter Counties Until 7:15 PM

At 5:50 PM, a severe thunderstorm was located near Dug Hill, about 7 miles west of Demopolis, moving east at 15 mph. This storm is producing wind gusts up to 60 mph and quarter-size hail.
A line of strong to severe thunderstorms continues moving southeastward out of central Mississippi, with new storm development noted along an advancing outflow boundary. Some of these newer storms have already produced quarter-size hail.
At 5:01 PM, the National Weather Service in Birmingham detected a line of severe thunderstorms stretching from near Cooksville to Tamola, moving east at 35 mph. These storms are capable of producing wind gusts up to 60 mph and quarter-size hail.
At 4:03 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Panola, or about 19 miles southwest of Aliceville, moving east at 15 miles per hour. This storm is capable of producing wind gusts up to 60 mph and quarter size hail.
At 3:50 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Hayneville, moving east at 10 miles per hour. This storm is capable of producing wind gusts up to 60 mph and quarter size hail.
At 3:14 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Benton, about 9 miles northwest of Mosses, moving east at 15 miles per hour. This storm is producing wind gusts up to 60 mph and quarter size hail.
At 225 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Selmont-West Selmont, moving east at 15 mph.
At 200 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Vaiden, or 7 miles south of Marion, moving east at 20 mph.
As of 9:25 AM, rain and thunderstorms are affecting the northern portion of Alabama, primarily across the northwest and north-central parts of the state.
