
Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Southwestern Dallas County Until 5:15 PM CDT
The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for southwestern Dallas County in south central Alabama, effective until 5:15 PM CDT.
RADAR CHECK: While most of North Alabama is rain-free this afternoon, we have a few scattered strong thunderstorms over far South Alabama. Heavier ones are producing small hail and gusty winds as they move east/southeast.
RADAR CHECK: We have a few isolated showers over North Alabama early this morning just before sunrise, otherwise the state is dry with temperatures in the upper 60s and low 70s. Expect a partly sunny sky today with a high in the mid to upper 80s
The NWS has released a discussion regarding a cluster of storms as they move into north Alabama and southern Tennesse.
RADAR CHECK: Scattered showers and thunderstorms are in progress over the Tennessee Valley of North Alabama, and also over the southern third of the state at mid-afternoon. The central counties are dry; temperatures are mostly in the 77-85 degree range.
RADAR CHECK: Just before daybreak large areas of rain and thunderstorms are over West and South Alabama. Some are producing small hail and very heavy rain as the move slowly to the east/northeast. The northern counties are dry.
