Dangerous heat levels are the story back in Alabama with hot temperatures and high humidity are causing those feels like temperatures to surge above 105°, which is the danger range for North and Central Alabama. A heat advisory has been issued for much of the state today and the next several days.

HOT: Hot, humid summer weather headlines the forecast for Alabama through mid-week. Heat levels will peak today and tomorrow with afternoon highs in the 93-98 degree range; a heat advisory is in effect for the northern 2/3 of the state with potential heat index values touching 105 at times.
RADAR CHECK: We have your classic case of random, scattered showers and thunderstorms across Alabama this afternoon; they are moving westward and will dissipate after dark. Away from the showers, temperatures are mostly in the 90-94 degree range.
It is heat, humidity, and daily storms during the afternoon and evening hours. Each day this week will feature a mix of sun and clouds, expect highs in the mid 90s for many locations.

Heat index values are expected to reach up to 107 degrees due to a combination of hot temperatures and high humidity. These conditions can increase the risk of heat-related illnesses.
As of 10:55AM, temperatures were ranging from the lower 80s to the lower 90s across the state. Andalusia was the hot spot at 91 degrees, while Gadsden was the cool spot at 81 degrees.
