RADAR CHECK: A few showers and thunderstorms are over the Tennessee Valley of far North Alabama early this morning, otherwise the sky is mostly cloudy with temperatures in the 50s and 60s. Expect more clouds than sun today with a chance of showers, mainly for the northern and western part of Alabama.
Skies are mostly sunny across Alabama with some clouds starting to edge into western sections of the state. They will continue to increase through the day, with some nice sunset photos on tap for this evening, I feel. So have those smartphone cameras ready to snap away. Severe weather and flooding will be a threat by Wednesday.
Today will be a very nice day across Alabama. Visibility for the eclipse in Alabama is iffy, but skies are not likely to be totally cloudy. The video includes a complete national rundown of best places to see it. Monday night through early Thursday will feature rain and storms. Alabama doesn’t look like it will see much, if any severe weather, but flooding could become an issue by Wednesday.
Central Alabama will experience a pleasant Saturday with clear skies and warming temperatures, followed by a significant warm-up on Sunday with increasing humidity and a chance of showers overnight. However, the arrival of a stalled front on Monday may bring cloudy skies, showers, and potentially impact viewing of the solar eclipse.
Today is another gorgeous day of weather with sunny, but cool conditions with highs in the mid 60s. Tonight, growers beware, temperatures fall into the 30s, we are likely to see areas of patchy frost across North and Central Alabama; protect any sensitive vegetation.
DRY THROUGH SUNDAY: Sunny weather continues across Alabama today with a high in the 60s for most communities this afternoon. Tonight will be clear and cold, and with no wind we expect frost to form over the northern half of the state early tomorrow morning with lows mostly in the 34-40 degree range.
DRY APRIL AFTERNOON: It is a breezy, cool April afternoon across Alabama. The sky is sunny, with the exception of some clouds over the northeast corner of the state, and temperatures are mostly in the 60s.
The sky is severe clear across Alabama with tons of sunshine and blue sky. It is cool with temperatures in the low to mid 60s, and these are below average for this time of year, as the average high today is 72°.
RED FLAG WARNING: Alabama’s weather will be windy and cool today with a partly sunny sky. A “red flag warning” is in effect for most of the state due to low humidity levels and a west wind averaging 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
RADAR CHECK: We have a few spotty showers over the northern third of Alabama, even some reports of small hail near the Tennessee border due to very cold air aloft. The sky is mostly sunny over the southern 2/3 of the state with temperatures generally in the 60s.
COOL CHANGE: Heavier thunderstorms have moved out of the southeast corner of Alabama early this morning… most of the state will be dry today but much cooler with highs in the 60s.
No tornado at this time, but damaging winds are likely with this storm. The warning includes the Auburn area.
